Abstract
Among 708 college students, appearance-based self-acceptance (M = 53.6, SD = 26.1) was strongly associated with perceived acceptance by others (r = .67, p < .001) and modestly associated with parental rejection (r = .24, p < .001). Self-acceptance showed a negligible association with global self-esteem (r = .05).
