Abstract

Burnout and work–learning conflict significantly mediate the relationship between learning engagement and academic maladjustment in working students. Higher engagement reduces burnout and conflict, which in turn lowers maladjustment. Undergraduate students report higher burnout and maladjustment than postgraduate students, regardless of employment status.
