Balancing Brains and Bots: Psychological Adaptation to AI in Higher Education in South Africa

Abstract
The study examines psychological adaptation to AI in higher education through culturally responsive pedagogy. Using qualitative methods with 57 Post Graduate Certificate in Education students, findings reveal AI boosts efficiency and confidence but risks dependency and anxiety. Recommendations advocate balanced integration, and ethical AI literacy to sustain learning and inclusivity.
