Abstract
This study examined how Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) severity affects neural responses to facial emotion recognition. Forty-eight participants completed an electroencephalogram task, showing larger P3 responses to self-faces and smiling faces. AUD severity amplified self-face effects but weakened responses to smiling faces, highlighting AUD’s impact on social cognitive processing.
