Meaning-Making and Civic-Mindedness Mediate the Relationships between Gender and Cultural Value Shifts after COVID-19

We explored the relationship between gender and shifts in cultural values among college students participating in a place-based experiential learning intervention during COVID-19. Women were more likely to endorse increased horizontal individualistic, mediated by sustainability meaning-making. Women also endorsed increased horizontal collectivism, mediated by sustainability meaning making and civic-mindedness.
