Entitlement's Role in the Dehumanization of Immigrants, and Endorsement of Extremist Anti-Immigration Policies

Three studies expanded our understanding of racial prejudice by exploring the link between psychological entitlement and anti-immigrant prejudice. Three manifestations of entitlement were investigated: narcissistic, resentful, and racial. Each form of entitlement predicted greater dehumanization of undocumented immigrants, with perception of threat and resource drain partially accounting for this relationship.
