Abstract
Childhood abuse has been associated with dissociation. Both dissociation and adverse experiences may be associated with reduced interoceptive accuracy, or difficulties perceiving bodily responses. We examine whether childhood abuse severity is associated with dissociation and lower interoceptive accuracy, and explore whether interoception explains the relationship between childhood abuse and dissociation.
