Comorbidity of Gastrointestinal Esophageal Reflux Disease and Mental Health Disorders across Different Age Groups

In an exploratory study of 4909 participants, gastrointestinal esophageal reflux disease’s (GERD) impact on mental health mostly affected middle aged groups. Specifically, GERD was most comorbid with anxiety (p=0.008) in those under 30, depression (p=0.002) in 31-65, and eating disorders (p=0.044) in those 65+.
