Exploring Loneliness & Mental Health in a Greek University Sample: The Role of Self-Compassion and Rejection Sensitivity

Abstract
We examined students’ loneliness in relation to mental well-being and specifically, the role of rejection sensitivity (RJ) and self-compassion. There were 443 participants (132 Males, Mage = 22). We found associations among loneliness, RJ and self-compassion predicting mental well-being. In addition, loneliness mediated the relationship between RJ and depression.
