Adolescent Anxiety Disorders, Chronic Stress, and Fear-Related Hippocampal Activity

We explored hippocampal activation in anxious adolescents and the possibility of mediation effects of chronic stress in 148 adolescents (87 females, M_age = 15.38). Anxious participants demonstrated a marginally significant reduction in activation differences in right hippocampus, however this was not found to be mediated by chronic stress.
