Broad Concepts of Mental Disorder Predict Self-Diagnosis

We investigated the factors that predict people self-diagnosing themselves of having a mental disorder. Conducting structural equation modelling analysis on data from 474 participants, people who have higher distress, greater mental health literacy, less stigma, and most novelly, broader concepts of mental disorder are more likely to diagnose themselves.
