Abstract
This study examined whether native-Mandarin speakers experience less emotional resonance when telling stories in English versus Mandarin. Participants from Boston University told neutral, positive, and negative stories, then rated their emotional responses. Results showed greater emotional intensity in Mandarin, influenced by relational context, with common themes of school and relationships.
