A Proposed Study of Anxiety, Beliefs, and Accommodation in Parents of Children with Selective Mutism

Parents’ beliefs about their children’s anxiety are commonly linked to specific behaviors with their anxious children. This study will investigate relations between parents’ anxiety, parents’ beliefs about anxiety, parents’ accommodation, and symptom severity in their children with selective mutism, a social communication anxiety disorder not included in previous research.
