Abstract
Why might East Asians seek support less than Americans do? We found that while this phenomenon is robust, social anxiety did not predict support-seeking among Japanese. Instead, conscientiousness was the primary predictor. Our findings highlight the nuanced cultural dynamics influencing support-seeking behavior across cultures
