Navigating Discrimination: The Role of Cultural Identity in Shaping Mental Health Outcomes

The study investigated the association between racial discrimination and depressive symptoms among Asian American immigrant-origin youth and cultural identity as a moderator. Findings revealed that racial discrimination and dimensions of cultural identity (categorization and compartmentalization) uniquely contributed to higher levels of depressive symptoms, but there was no significant moderation found.
