Abstract
Parents perceived adolescents’ emotional well-being (EWB) as lower than their self-reports. This disagreement along with sex predicted internalizing behaviors in adolescents, with no group effect. Results suggest that parental perception of adolescents’ EWB plays an important role in their mental health and provides insights into utilizing proxy-report in EWB research.
