Abstract

We conducted a meta-analysis on the correlation between trait anxiety and risk taking as measured by the Domain-Specific Risk Taking Scale (DOSPERT). Based on 10 samples and 40 correlations, we found a weak negative effect overall (-.04), with somewhat stronger effects in the recreational (-.12) and social (-.15) risk-taking domains.
