Abstract

Americans’ Twitter activity during the COVID-19 pandemic revealed that county-level collectivism played a significant role in buffering perceived threats, as evidenced by less negative sentiment expressed in COVID-19-related (but not unrelated) tweets. These findings underscore the critical role of cultural factors in building resilience during global health crises.
