Abstract

Using structural equation modeling on 1,709 Filipino emerging adults during the COVID-19 pandemic, we found resilience negatively relates to brooding and reflection. Brooding, not reflection, linked to higher depression and anxiety. Mediation showed resilience indirectly related to better mental health via lower brooding. Resilience-building and rumination management benefit mental health.
