Abstract
The role of math self-beliefs as mediator for the math achievement—math anxiety link was examined. Math self-concept was found to be a stronger and more consistent mediator than math self-efficacy, indicating the importance of distinctions between different math self-belief constructs and between the affective and cognitive components of math anxiety.
