Abstract
This study explored how victims’ reaction to a transgression (agentic vs. vulnerability-appealing) influences people’s attitudes toward the victim. Experimental data (N = 504) showed that victim’s agentic reaction leads to more victim blaming and less willing to support. People also deem emotional support as unnecessary and ineffective for agentic victims.
