Former Young Caregiver Experiences Matter: There Are Both Positive and Negative Effects on Emerging Adult Caregivers’ Mental and Physical Health

Emerging adult caregivers (EAC) previously child caregivers for parents/adult relatives (FYC) were compared to those who were not FYC. FYCs for a parent (n=85) reported more depressive symptoms than those who were not (n=77).  Personality fully mediated the relation between caregiver experiences and some mental and physical health outcomes.
