Abstract

The psychology curriculum has not traditionally acknowledged marginalized viewpoints. This study examined whether decolonization of introductory psychology predicts positive outcomes. Our results indicate that students in more decolonized classes have higher levels of belonging, psychological membership, and better learning outcomes. This study supports future efforts to decolonize introductory psychology courses.
