Abstract

Women tend to ruminate and exhibit higher emotional reactivity, which contributes to negative urgency, a tendency to act impulsively under distress. This study of 336 women found that rumination and emotional reactivity independently affect negative urgency, but their interaction did not significantly impact impulsive behavior.
