Abstract

Gut microbiome diversity influences the mental health of pregnant women via the gut-brain axis. In a sample of 180 pregnant women, higher alpha diversity was positively associated with adverse mental health symptoms. This suggests potential mechanistic pathways influencing maternal mental health and fetal well-being.
