Prosocial Deception in Indian Preschoolers: The Role of Theory of Mind Skills

This study examines lie-telling in Indian preschool children, focusing on prosocial lying and its relation to theory of mind (ToM) development. Findings reveal that 60.8% of children lied, with higher ToM abilities associated with successful deception. The research contributes to understanding moral development across diverse cultural contexts.
