Abstract
This study examined spontaneous trait inferences (STIs) among Singaporean participants (n = 171) - a face culture. In a memory task, participants inferred nonhostile traits but not hostile ones from others’ ambiguous behaviors, reflecting the emphasis on harmony. These findings enhance understanding of implicit social perception in diverse cultural contexts.
