Abstract

What is the relationship between paid father’s leave policy and gender equality attitudes? We examine data from 20 countries (N > 14,800) and find that longer policy implementation and greater parity with mother’s leave correlate with rejecting stereotypes and supporting gender equality. These findings extend social dominance and policy theories.
