Abstract
719 Americans and 475 Japanese read case descriptions representing the entire autism spectrum and rated how severe they thought the symptoms were, followed by relevant mediating measures. When Japanese scored higher than Americans, conformity orientation mediated the difference. When Americans scored higher than Japanese, transparency of mind mediated the difference.
