ACE-Ing Math: Borrowing from ACEs to Understand the Nature and Impacts of Adverse Educational Experiences

Results from two studies suggest the “trauma” construct might poorly fit the education domain, but “Adverse Educational Experiences” (AEEs) might provide an established nomological network for building understanding.  Reports of AEEs in math appear to be common and are significantly related to academic achievement, relationships with faculty, and mental health.
