Abstract

This study examined how moral conviction and relational context influence alignment between moral attitudes and intended self-expression in the USA and Japan. Hierarchical linear regression revealed relational context had a stronger effect than moral conviction, especially in Japan. Findings highlight social relationships' importance in shaping moral intentions across cultures.
