Teaching Scientific Inquiry through an Interview-Based Writing Course

Abstract

I present an introductory writing-based course in which students explore how scientists build and communicate ideas by engaging directly with professional scholars. Students work collaboratively, interviewing a scientist, and translating those interviews into science communication pieces. Students learned to decipher complex research, while also being exposed to scientific careers.
