The (Cognitive-Affective) Achievement Gap: Examining the Role of ACE Exposure and Perceived SES in Academic Achievement

This study investigates differences in the endorsement of several cognitive affective strategies associated with academic achievement based on perceived SES and exposure to adverse experiences in childhood (ACEs). High ACE exposure impacted academic self-efficacy, distress tolerance and emotional avoidance. Low perceived SES impacted belongingness.
