Students Have Fun and Learn Using a Text-Only Narrative Game

Games can increase student motivation/engagement, leading to better learning outcomes. However, creating visual game elements can be an obstacle for instructors. Here, I implemented a text-only narrative game. Students rated the game as enjoyable and helpful for learning. Moreover, students who completed the game before assessment performed significantly better.
