Physiological Responses of Surgical Teams during Low-Risk and High-Risk Operations

We examined physiological stress responses of 16 operating teams during surgery and tested whether stress responses varied across team members. Results indicate that senior members showed more adaptive stress responses than junior members. Further, nurses exhibited a greater stress response when a junior member led the operation.
