Reading Aloud to Children Enhances Their Intelligence: Evidence from a Cluster-Randomized Trial
In a cluster-randomized trial targeting 1,000 pupils and lasting eight weeks, for half of the participants after school activities were substituted with reading-aloud sessions. Standardized tests were administered at the beginning and at the end of the trial. The reading-aloud group intelligence and cognitive development showed stronger improvement.
