The Happiness of Withholding Happiness

The current research proposes a simple but overlooked strategy that allows individuals to derive more happiness from a positive personal event: to delay disclosing the information. Seven studies demonstrate that most people do not voluntarily opt into this strategy, but when made to do so, they obtain more happiness.
