The Differential Influences of Positive Psychological Factors on Upper Respiratory Infections in African and European Americans
We explored whether positive psychological factors were equally protective against illness for 271 African (AA) and 700 European (EA) Americans across multiple viral exposure studies. Analyses revealed significant interactions between race and multiple factors (e.g., positive emotional style), such that the factors were beneficial for EAs but not AAs.
