Safe People Make Peaceful Countries: Increased Perceived Safety As an Antecedent of Constructive National Identification
The current investigations provides evidence for a positive link between perceived safety (how safe people feel in their life) and constructive forms of national identification (i.e., identifying with one's nations and also being critical of its actions). Evidence is drawn from large, cross-national datasets and from online crowdsourced samples.
