The Links between Caregiving and Cognitive and Socioemotional Development across Infancy and Childhood in the Context of Risk and Adversity
This symposium explores how adverse environmental experiences shape cognitive, social and emotional development throughout infancy, childhood, and adolescence. The speakers presented in this symposium provide novel insights on how parents experiences of stress may impact their well-being, induce harsh and insensitive caregiving, and adversely impact child and adolescent developmental outcomes.
