How Do I Hate Myself? Let Me Count the Ways: Novel Approaches to Understanding the Negative Consequences of Self-Criticism
This symposium will build upon past research demonstrating the deleterious effects of self-criticism by examining self-criticism patterns and habits in novel ways. Research will address pervasive self-critical rumination, self-invalidation due to emotion, self-criticism across life domains, and fluctuations in momentary self-criticism assessed during daily life.
