Self-report is the simplest way to measure cultural differences. Yet meta-analyses find self-report unreliable, at times contradicting real-world behavior. Four studies address this by measuring culture in behavior. From Match.com to Starbucks, these studies move beyond "WEIRD" to the recent call for "WILD" research: worldwide, in situ, local, and diverse.
