Dynamics of Goal Engagement and Disengagement
This symposium addresses different aspects of goal pursuit conceptualized as a dynamic process of goal engagement and disengagement. This process requires balancing the costs and benefits of increasing and decreasing engagement in hedonic and achievement goals, adjusting short-term and long-term goals, and disengaging from goals temporarily or permanently.
