Climate Authoritarianism: How Climate Change Could Fuel Right-Wing Support
How could climate change impact voting behavior? We argue ecological stressors might increase the cultural appeal of right-wing politics. Our analysis of local weather emergencies and congressional voting in 4698 US House elections between 1984 and 2018 revealed a moderate relationship between weather emergencies and right-wing voting (r=.23).
