Statistical power is considered pertinent to the credibility of psychological research studies. This symposium discusses issues raised in using power analysis for designing studies, evaluating published results, and generating research policies. Topics include philosophies and assumptions underlying power-based claims, implications of power for replicability, and understanding/incorporating uncertainty in power analysis.
