Fake News Known As Fake Still Enduringly Changes Beliefs and Leads to Partisan Polarization
In four experiments, participants who were thoroughly instructed that they were going to read a made-up article still ended up believing the content, and changed their political preferences. The effects are resistant to corrective efforts and persistent across time.
