Sexual Orientation Moderates the Relationship between Parental Discipline Strategies and Total Psychological Problems in Emerging Adult Men

Abstract

Results of the current study revealed that parent discipline behaviors and sexual orientationsignificantly predicted total psychological problems in emerging adults. A moderation model found that heterosexual and gay men report less psychological problems as parenting discipline behaviors increased; additionally, this effect is more pronounced in heterosexual men.
