A Multidimensional Item Response Theory Approach to Evaluating the Factor Structure of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale

Abstract
Multidimensional item response theory is used generate and compare a series of models for best fit of the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale. Analyses show support for superior fit of a bifactor solution when compared to a single factor, and two factor solution when using the MIRT package.
