Women with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) in Residential Treatment Tend to Report More Significant Emotional Difficulties but Do Not Differ from Men in the Manifestation of AUD.
The purpose of the study was to explore gender differences in the manifestation of AUD and emotion regulation difficulties in patients with AUD undergoing detoxification treatment. Women reported a shorter duration of AUD and more significant emotion regulation difficulties. Gender differences in the manifestation of AUD were not observed.
