Are Action Slips Goal-Directed after All?

Virtual

Oral · Cognitive Psychology

Action slips are traditionally explained by stimulus-driven processes that do not involve contingency processing. We propose that they result from goal-directed processes that involve errors in the retrieval of contingency information. We developed a new paradigm to test this alternative explanation and present supportive evidence.
